On January 1, we proudly celebrated William Doran’s three-year anniversary with Foundations to Freedom—a milestone that reflects dedication, growth, and the heart of recovery in action.
William’s journey with Foundations to Freedom began as a Maintenance Technician, and through hard work and commitment, he has served in many roles along the way, including Driver, Care Coordinator, Case Manager, and now Men’s Program Director for Flagler County. His progression is a true testament to perseverance and the opportunities that recovery can provide.
When asked about his favorite part of working at Foundations to Freedom, William shares that it’s the interaction and support among staff. “Everyone helps each other so we can better help our clients,” he says—capturing the collaborative spirit that defines our organization.
William recently achieved his Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) credential and is currently working on his exemption to become a Certified Recovery Residence Administrator (CRRA), continuing to strengthen his leadership and impact within the recovery community.
Having spent 44 years living in the woods and experiencing incarceration 11 times, William deeply understands the stigma surrounding addiction and incarceration. This lived experience fuels his passion for outreach and education, helping others understand the realities individuals in recovery face—and reminding them that transformation is possible.
We are grateful for William’s leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to recovery.
Congratulations on three incredible years, William—we’re honored to have you as part of the Foundations to Freedom family.
