At Foundations to Freedom, we are proud to recognize team members whose passion and lived experience make a meaningful difference every day — and Zachary McCague is a perfect example.
Zach has been part of the Foundations to Freedom family for a year and a half and currently serves as our Lead Care Coordinator and Certified Recovery Peer Specialist.
He was originally hired as a Care Coordinator, transitioned into a Peer Specialist role, and now continues his peer work while supervising our entire care coordination team. His growth reflects both his dedication and his heart for service.
Zach came to Foundations to Freedom driven by his passion for helping others and his own journey in recovery. Now clean for three and a half years, he brings empathy, understanding, and authenticity to the individuals he serves.
What Zach enjoys most is being “on the ground” with the men in our programs — walking alongside them as they rebuild their lives through recovery. He believes that many people come into recovery feeling lost, and he finds purpose in helping them rediscover who they are, what they love, and how to find passion for life again.
The greatest gift Zach says he has received in his own recovery is peace — no longer living in chaos and being able to truly enjoy each day.
Zach is currently working toward earning his CRRA (Certified Recovery Residence Administrator) credential, continuing his commitment to professional growth and excellence in the recovery field.
Looking ahead, Zach’s personal goals include achieving housing stability and working toward purchasing a home as he continues building the life he’s worked so hard for.
We are grateful for Zach’s leadership, compassion, and dedication to the mission. His work helps create hope and transformation every day.
