PIERSON, FL (February 2, 2026) — Foundations to Freedom is proud to announce the placement of a new Narcan vending machine at Iglesia Misionaria, located at 274 S. Center Street in Pierson. This marks the first Narcan vending machine in the Pierson community and an important step in expanding access to life-saving overdose reversal medication.
Over the past year, Foundations to Freedom has dispensed 2,683 cartons of Narcan through its vending machines, helping prevent fatal overdoses and ensuring community members have access to critical resources when they are needed most. Since February of last year, six Narcan vending machine locations have been established throughout the region, with Pierson now joining this growing network.
The new placement at Iglesia Misionaria is especially significant as it increases access to Narcan for the predominantly Latino community in Pierson—an area where culturally responsive, accessible public health resources are essential.
“Expanding access to Narcan is about saving lives, reducing stigma, and meeting people where they are,” said Katherine Russell, Executive Director and Founder of Foundations to Freedom. “By partnering with trusted community institutions like Iglesia Misionaria, we are able to ensure these resources reach those who may need them most.”
Narcan vending machines provide free, anonymous access to naloxone, empowering individuals, families, and bystanders to respond quickly in the event of an opioid overdose.
