Volusia Interfaith/Agencies Networking in Disaster (VIND) is Volusia County’s long-term disaster recovery agency. VIND assists homeowners who have been affected by disasters and have unmet needs and have been denied by FEMA. Primarily, homeowners who are uninsured or underinsured and live on a fixed income. Seniors, Veterans, and disabled persons, families with children make up most of our clients. VIND is a non-profit agency that uses donated resources and grant funding for materials and volunteers to complete the work on homes. VoRide is available from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays. It costs $2 per passenger. The service isn’t available on Sundays or holidays. You can download the app via the App Store or Google Play. Riders use the app to create an account, book trips, and pay for them ― there’s no tipping. They can also pay the driver in cash for the ride, but it needs to be exact change. The app will show them an estimated arrival time of the driver and track the driver’s location. The VoRide vehicles all have the VoRide and county logos displayed. April 2024 will expand to include Deltona, Orange City, and DeBary.
